Commitment to Diversity and Inclusion
All are welcomed. All are valued. We embrace a culture of diversity—we strive to be an inclusive environment where children and families feel safe and free to be themselves. We foster a climate of purposeful inclusion, where all are cared for and given the opportunity to form meaningful connections with each other. We cherish the diversity of humanity, including differences in sex, age, race, ethnicity, national origin, faiths, ability, sexual orientation, gender identity, financial means, family composition and education. Each day, we practice Montessori values of openness, compassion, and integrity.
In addition to Montessori philosophy, our teachers and staff are guided by their wise and empathic minds. They set the tone. And the tone is special here. Interactions are thoughtful. Children learn the skills of open communication, care of self, and care of others. Equity is nurtured through simple but important practices such as children learning how to meet at the peace table to resolve disagreements. Families come to know and support each other through volunteering, social activities, and the routine of daily drop-off and pick-up. The Diversity and Inclusion Committee organizes events in support of an inclusive and respectful learning environment.
